The archive of what I posted on Twitter, which I now self host due to a lack of trust in Twitter and some other reasons.

I'll soon begin refelcting all my Mastodon posts here too. I'm happier self-hosting or maintaining an archive of my content on URLs that I can own.

There are tools to help you do this too. Such as this one from the makers of Eleventy.

@SaraSoueidan Love it! Is there anything Will Smith can't enhance with his "shazzam!" presentation skills?

@rafahariuses uses that very trick to win *every design debate we ever have* at @Netlify!

@mxbck @Netlify If you want to use Netlify CI which triggers builds when your repo changes, your Gitlab repo will need to be accessible to Netlify. Often self-hosted instances are not accessible outside of their networks.

If your repo is on a private network, you can deploy via the API instead

@krzysu Although #JAMstack goes further than static sites alone. The JAMstack ecosystem elevates static sites thanks to the use of automated builds and deployments, content APIs, and other services. @smashingmag's move is a good example https://www.netlify.com/case-studies/smashing/

@Una A simple classic:

alias ..="cd .."
alias ...="cd ../.."
alias ....="cd ../../.."

and also handy:

# Create a new directory and enter it
function mkd() {
mkdir -p "$@" && cd "$_";
}

@oliverturner @VeryThorough Excellent!

And +1 on the props to @VeryThorough. The quality of the docs was one of the things that got me on the Netlify train. An oft overlooked and never-ending area of hard work. @VeryThorough is the driving force behind that!
