Quietly making a resolution to get my use of exclamation marks under control!
Dammit.
The archive of what I posted on Twitter, which I now self host due to a lack of trust in Twitter and some other reasons.
I'll soon begin refelcting all my Mastodon posts here too. I'm happier self-hosting or maintaining an archive of my content on URLs that I can own.
There are tools to help you do this too. Such as this one from the makers of Eleventy.

Dammit.
Started my day by making the *perfect* piece of hot buttered toast.
This made me happy.
End of message.
@lynnandtonic ...and visiting @lynnandtonic's website is always as source of delight. I stumbled upon this little sprinkling of joy in her current site design. I'll stop playing with it in a minute.
I said *in a minute*!

This "Unordered, incomplete list of things I want from a job" by @lynnandtonic is a great illustration of the value in writing down what matters to you. Seeing this list is rather inspiring.
And as a side note, I had the pleasure of working with Lynn at Netlify and I can't overstate how wonderful she is. If you have the opportunity, and if her list resonates with you, there is a glorious opportunity here. You lucky schmuck.

Well, this event in Middlesbrough is shaping up very nicely indeed!
Happily joining the list of speakers.

Loads of good stuff from @hexagoncircle about web dev, but I loved this post about the nourishment found in making music and making time.
Well worth yours.
Very much looking forward to seeing @cassiecodes and @adactio and more friendly web friends at these upcoming #Storyblok / @btconf events.
Brighton and then Leeds. Two places close to my heart.

I just love the type of detailed craftsmanship and care @andy demonstrates here as he explains how he manages typographical flow with the use of a lobotomised owl and some CSS street smarts.

We have an energy crisis and a climate crisis, but let’s make sure that our breakfast diners here in San Diego can sit outside in February without needing more than a t-shirt by heating the outside with massive space-heaters.
It’s already gorgeous out here. Can’t we just put on a sweater or sit inside?
My wife keeps sending me random pictures of our cat rendered as a cuddly toy and I’m here for it.
I'm a big fan of Raycast, and now I can use it for all sorts of #Netlify actions thanks to this extension. I can even use it to quickly search the docs.
My response to people sharing npm download graphs:
Gatsby Inc is to Gatsby.js
as
Vercel is to Next.js
Netlify acquired Gatsby Inc.
I took a peep over at twitter to see what people there were saying about this news:
A big misconception I'm seeing is that Netlify wanted to *own* a react-based framework and join that club, leading to lock-in.
The opposite is true. Netlify already support other open-source frameworks without lock-in or roadmap ownership. Expect that.
And Gatsby is wayyyy bigger than Gatsby.js. ☁️
I've been looking forward to this!
#Netlify's PlanetScale integration adds some very cool capabilities for working with data in your sites and apps.

Advice that is seemingly obvious, but often overlooked. Plus all sorts of great insights and tips in this talk.
Nice. The #Netlify Drawer is available on branch deploys too now, if desired.

Thanking my lucky RSS stars that no matter how frequently or infrequently @mxbck blogs, I'll see it.
In this post he shares thoughts on why he might be posting less often than before, and give ideas that really chime with me on what might help grease the wheels. Very motivating.
Mulling over if I should share photos here in Mastodon, or if I should post to somewhere like @pixelfed and then occasionally share links to those photos.

A little like how I used to share instagram images on twitter in the old days.
Interesting to see what new habits form for other people too.
Movie scenes where somebody sits at a desk and casually plucks a few jellybeans from a glass bowl are the root of jealousy and wonder for me.
How fancy.
How organised.
How grown up.
How regal.
Happy new year to everyone except those who prefer their fireworks at home in residential areas.
Lots of love,

Sleepily watching ET while this fuzzy little friend falls asleep on my shoulder and snores in my ear.
Raclette is happening.
Crémant is happening.
Gordon Goodwin’s Big Phat Band is happening.
Excellent.
