The archive of what I posted on Twitter, which I now self host due to a lack of trust in Twitter and some other reasons.

I'll soon begin refelcting all my Mastodon posts here too. I'm happier self-hosting or maintaining an archive of my content on URLs that I can own.

There are tools to help you do this too. Such as this one from the makers of Eleventy.

Too much fun over the weekend playing with @eleven_ty to rebuild my website.
I wanted:

- Data sourced from @benotist, Twitter, IG
- Easily theme-able blog pages with little CSS
- Solid Lighthouse score
- Lighter/fun development experience

https://hawksworx.com so far...

Possibly a handy example for those using (the excellent @benotist) to share presentations:

✍️ Manage your presentations on @notist
🥤 Slurp up you content via their JSON feeds
🤖 Generate event listings on your site with @eleven_ty
🌐 Serve on @netlify

@djeglin Yay! You could use Netlify Functions as your API layer for anything. Giving you all those nice things like automated builds, branch builds, preview builds, A/B testing, rollbacks.. that you enjoy already on your sites... but for #serverless functions.

@djeglin @Netlify Yep. Deploying a Netlify Function results in an endpoint that you can access over HTTP. You can use them with anything that speaks HTTP.

By default it exposes:
https://your.domain/.netlify/functions/function-file-name

The _redirects API also gives full control over that URL

@codemzy @Netlify 👍 In those few places where pre-rendering at build time is not going to cut it, you might indeed use functions to server-render. This example explores using #expressJS that way:

I wish I could take any of the credit. The product and platform teams work so hard to make the experience that slick. I'm constantly in awe.

Glad it looks good to you.

@gauiis @biilmann @Netlify Indeed. It's an abstraction. Like the power to your server racks. Netlify manage all sorts of infrastructure so you won't have to.
