The archive of what I posted on Twitter, which I now self host due to a lack of trust in Twitter and some other reasons.

I'll soon begin refelcting all my Mastodon posts here too. I'm happier self-hosting or maintaining an archive of my content on URLs that I can own.

There are tools to help you do this too. Such as this one from the makers of Eleventy.

This news makes me very happy!
I can't wait for the first official #JAMstack Conference next week, and all the excellent people I'll get to hang out with. https://twitter.com/jamstackconf/status/1054440637104295937

@felipesere @britishairways @Netlify Me too!
I'm also building and deploying sites to @Netlify from an airport!

Nice to not worried about doing this over my phone's hotspot because the heavy lifting is all done elsewhere.

@batiste_dek @Netlify Yes. This is where Environment Variables are your friend.

You can add environment variables via the admin interface and then access them in your code with process.env.YOUR_ENV_VAR_NAME

And dotenv can help with local dev and keeping them out of your repo.

@amincharoliya @Netlify @github @contentful @chriscoyier @wesbos @notwaldorf @ossia @jllord @stolinski @biilmann @simona_cotin @_prateekbh We'll be recording the conference talks and publishing them as soon as we can after the event.

The agency day talks and lightning talks might not be published depending on some of the content.

In addition to these speakers, there will be more yet smart people giving talks on the Agency Day, and lightening talks in the evening too!

I might need to make some room in my brain for all this.

I'm going to forget all the levels from Doom & Doom 2.
And how to speak Spanish. https://twitter.com/Netlify/status/1053285167132016641

@cackhanded I just redesigned/rebuilt my site. And launched without it in the spirit of "done is better than perfect".

But this is a helpful nudge. I'll roll that out. 👍

@dawgawel Ooooh that's interesting!

As a site gets bigger, the larger its index becomes. So an approach like this is a nice way to get around that. And #serverless functions can deliver this backend with the need for a... uh... backend.
