@Adysandu Thanks!

@Adysandu Wow. Thanks Adrian!
PCpartpicker is amazing. New to me. A few people have recommended similar looking configurations now via that site and it is helping me hone in on wanting to build rather than buy. Good thoughts here. 👍

@tpiros @biilmann I tend to write it "JAMstack".
And that's what we used for the book.
(and having said that here, I'll probably contradict myself be accident almost immediately)

@thehugodesigns Thanks for all this effort Hugo!
Plenty of food for thought there!

@thehugodesigns Keen to keep it under £1000. Debating build/buy. I have peripherals already.

@bgever @davatron5000 @andybelldesign I was ignorant about eGPU until this thread! Certainly something to think about.

@geeky_writer_ I’m unlikely to ditch my PS4. Even if only for Last Of Us 2 (squeeeeee!) but rts / building games just don’t quite work on consoles. And there are great options I miss out on.

@_prateekbh @GoogleStadia Yeah! I’m fascinated by this. And keen to try it. Suspect it will be less well suited to RTS / city building type games that a PC with keyboard and mouse seems to excel at. It might replace my console some time though.

@simonw Wow. That looks epic. I'll probably be starting with something a little more entry level though. First toe in the PC game waters for a long long time. Feeling like something sound and with good upgrade options is the way for me to get started.

@simonw Thanks. I’m only just learning that name. I’ll be exploring.

@sparkycollier @stevecomrie Wow. Yeah that 64gb of ram jumped out at me! This thread is introducing me to all new brand names and acronyms. Lots of googling for me :)

@monkchips @slsoftworks Very much obliged!

@BeastBuilds @kylejamesfrazer Thanks!

@kylejamesfrazer For sure. By the time the new thing arrives you start seeing ads for why you neeeeed new thing ++.
But you are happy with the performance for what you do?

@BeastBuilds @kylejamesfrazer Thanks.
(and oooh, snazzy!)
But I'm based in the UK, so this might not be the most economical.

@kylejamesfrazer Nice. Pleased with its performance? £50 for a graphics card sounds like a steal! Tempted to do any more upgrades or happy?

@kylejamesfrazer HD would be fine. 4k would be a bonus. I have a 4k monitor.
Looking for a good way to play RTS / city building games like the Anno series.
I haven't had a gaming PC for decades and always remember chasing specs for modern games.
