Game over.
Insert coin.

@raymondcamden @antonelli_a @jlengstorf hmmm... no I think you're right. The access to the environment variable here is not as general purpose I thought. I'll explore some more. But agree, this would be handy

@raymondcamden @antonelli_a @jlengstorf Well, as it happens...

@raymondcamden @antonelli_a @jlengstorf This is a really handy way to sanitise and decouple API urls.
Keep in mind that any secrets you place here will likely be visible in your code repo unless you are deploying without CI/CD (which you can do via the Netlify CLI)

I’m unbelievably lucky to get to work with @gass_amina! She’s like a company supercharger. https://twitter.com/Netlify/status/1362862375867662337

@ItWasMattGregg If you include dependencies of your functions in the project’s package.json Netlify will handle getting those deployed for your functions.

@jlengstorf @devictoribero @Netlify Technically you can also control this feature via the API.

@SlexAxton @alberge This is still one of my favourite things.

@bencodezen @gass_amina @cassidoo @marisamorby It had been called out already.

@marisamorby @gass_amina @bencodezen @cassidoo It seems my work here is done. I’m so proud of you, @marisamorby.

@djm_ You could perhaps use build plugins for this. You could (re)move that file programatically before the build starts via the onPreBuild event.
Plugins are really handy for extending into the Netlify Build tooling.

@djm_ Not that I'm aware of. You could try something dirty like prepending your build command in Netlify with "rm runtime.txt" since that is just happening in the ephemeral build env.

@cassidoo Also @cassidoo, I think it’s your round.

@kendalmintcode @CicmilJovan @FrontEndPodcast @Netlify 😊 You’ll also get some good insights from This article by @sarah_edo where she describes the DX org she assembled and heads up at @Netlify.

@Netlify @Hicksyfern @cassidoo And you can expose which branch is being served to your analytics tool thanks to snippet injection. Here’s how: https://explorers.netlify.com/learn/split-testing-with-netlify/adding-branch-information-to-analytics

So many advantages when deploys are atomic and immutable.
