Dear everyone on twitter —
I'm taking a few days off, but I haven't the discipline to stop staring blankly at you on a little screen everyday.
Please refrain from posting anything I might consider relevant to my professional interests this week.
Kittens/food/jokes/joy only, ok?

@notwaldorf @jaffathecake Pretty sure he got that from Socrates

@creativityhurts @ncoronges Those antipatterns work.
Making it 100000 times more complex to confidently opt out, than just hitting the “Yes to whatever you might have asked for. Fingers crossed, here goes” button. Was no accident.
And we work in this space. What chance to other stand?

@bonjouryannick @ncoronges Oh thanks! Minimal-consent looked good. Shame it’s no longer maintained. I’d prefer not to use something that defaults to automatically accepting everything being asked for.
A tool like this may well help my experience. But I wish the habits of the industry were just better.

It has been a little over a year since I could get beyond the cookie consent modal on @TechCrunch. Any link I follow there is a dead-end.
These horrible barriers, with their JS errors and their dark UX patterns are killing the web.

@Netlify Expecting timezones to sway these results like a big condiment-based pendulum.

@ncoronges Agreed!
The dark patterns used in these horrible modals are suffocating the web.

When you place an order, we'll hire somebody to satisfy your order and then as soon as you have what you asked for, they will be fired.
We're still working out some of the kinks.
