@kenny_io I'll never tell.
And I screamed some other words too, before I realised that I was no longer alone on the call. Oopsie!

@PeteCapeCod Oh for sure. I’d urge all companies to pay towards the open source projects they use. (At @netlify we support very many projects with sponsorship)
My anxiety comes when an open source project gets totally owned by an org. That’s when they need to demonstrate good, open habits.

@SimonToth83 As long as you are happy that the framework you choose and build with today, might gradually become more proprietary and tightly coupled to a specific platform over time.
Not everything has to be an open source product. But lock-in is a risk if "owner" trumps community.

@Jack_Franklin Trying to decide if joining this meeting would be a treat, or a horror show.

...so following @netlify's sponsoring of @zachleat's full time development of @eleven_ty, I was thrilled to see deployment guides for multiple build and hosting providers.
A great signal for the openness and health of this project.

Seeing open source frameworks getting major support from companies is great, but one consideration for me is if those frameworks then become beholden to the needs and demands of that company.

@Chr_Bach And none of us would make one from the logo. Mind blowing.

@devdevcharlie @jlengstorf @Netlify @stripe @cassidoo @maxcell @Tzmanics @domitriusclark We miss you and hope you are settling in quickly to your new gig.

@liv_codes @btjanaka @eleven_ty "It was a case of finding the right tool for the job"
This is the bullseye for me! No one tool fits every type of project. Next.js can be a good choice for applications and sites with more complex transactional functionality. But very often, YAGNI.
I'd love to read your post :)

@simonswiss @jlengstorf @devdevcharlie @Netlify @stripe @cassidoo @maxcell @Tzmanics @domitriusclark My mission to stamp out the fun continues.

@fimion @jlengstorf @devdevcharlie @Netlify @stripe @cassidoo @maxcell @Tzmanics @domitriusclark I’m on the road to recovery after this story.
But it’s a long road.

@peruvianidol This thread makes me feel it is important that we drink beers and shoot the shit together.

@seaotta Me too!
See you there!

A firm favourite for me! 🥳
Always thoughtfully produced to be informative and approachable. I’m so excited by the prospect of these speakers all being together under one roof, and for a chance to gossip with people who love designing and building the web. Hope to see you there! https://twitter.com/heypresents/status/1497183032737996800

What the hell is going on with this backward, hateful, marginalising, dehumanising, dangerous behaviour in Texas? https://twitter.com/ErinInTheMorn/status/1496511215719399431

@iChris @Netlify This was always a good instinct. But as here, there were one or two false positives.
I spy the fingerprints of @bencodezen

@jlengstorf The hat is straight.
The head..?

@toddmorey @jlengstorf I preferred his early stuff before he went all mainstream.
