"If you are not a man, and work with Jamstack and adjacent tech, please make a PR to add yourself to https://womenofjamstack.com/, because there are loads of us and I'm tired of my timeline being just JavaScriptmen" — @whitep4nth3r

"You can choose whatever makes sense to your brain, your project, your team, and use the best tool for the job." — says @5t3ph as my neck almost snaps from my vigorous nodding in agreement.
The freedom to choose the right tool for the job is vital.
As is the awareness to do so.

When a friend of mine deployed their first Jamstack site that cried out. "Why did I get bother getting a CompSci degree?!" You can get your ideas shipped and realised quickly, and that's one of the most powerful things you can do.

"What are the nuances that you enjoy about using Jamstack" asks @whitep4nth3r
"I'm a big fan of the ability to make mistakes and then rollback. Before, if you pushed a mistake to production and it would mean a whole day of pain and shame!" — @Tzmanics
Oooh, I've lived that!

"With these tools to get started with Jamstack and serverless, and you can become independant faster. You can start freelancing faster" — @TheGreenGreek
I love this. Making shallower onramps, and making people more powerful with less complexity is huge!

"For beginners and for many projects you can get started with just HTML and CSS. And it can grow with you."

What ISN'T Jamstack? Asks @whitep4nth3r
If you have to do the things that Jamstack offers you (like setting up, managing, maintaining servers and server code) on your own.

So, I'm pretty chuffing proud of my sister.
And today, on International Women's Day, I thought I might mention it.

She helped to found, and is COO of an organisation dedicated to supporting more and more people find shelter, find jobs, and get reestablished in a society which is quick to shut doors in their faces.

She volunteers at @HopesCorner_MV to provide showers, meals, clothes, resources, and friendship to countless people. There, she is a force of nature. When I've been to help out, watching her do her thing there is incredible. (You can donate to help https://www.hopes-corner.org/donate)

She works with the homeless and people at risk of homelessness to find them safety and security. Those she helps are people most of us overlook. Many became her friends. She works tirelessly for them. Going to extraordinary lengths to help. Saving numerous lives.

By being the most incredibly dedicated and supportive mum, she and husband Paul raised 3 incredible kids to become the kind of people I aspire to be.

At 21, she moved from away from home the UK, to live in the US. First in Boston, where she taught children with special needs, and then to SF to start a family. Away from her childhood family and the familiar, to new adventures.
Courage and ambition I still marvel at.

There are so many colleagues, friends, and inspirations who deserve a shout out this #IWD2022, but let's also remember that not everyone is very online. Like one of the people I admire most on this planet: my sister.

@mattyfromle You're right.
I'm just so saddened by our country's collective apathy or wilful disbelief which allows these people to be, or to remain, elected to represent us. We reap what we sow.
