Reviewing London pubs on Fullpint Thursdays

July 23rd, 2007

My Thursday nights (and, I fear, Friday mornings) may never be the same again, now that I have joined the gang of pub reviewers who participate in Fullpint Thursdays.

This may sound like a cheap excuse to regularly find myself in the pub, but I can promise that this is not the case. Andy, a friend and former colleague of mine established his pub review website, Fullpint.com some time ago and I have been invited to be an official pub reviewer. Personally, I’m trying to find a way to abuse this position in order to obtain free beer, free bar snacks or even just to get quick service at the bar, but with little success thus far. Perhaps we need t-shirts, ID cards or a flag to wave!

Fullpint Thursday is an attempt to regularly take in a selection of pubs that are missing from the Fullpint portfolio. It even has its own group on Facebook. Social-networking-tastic!

Fullpint has reviews of more than 500 London pubs and the number continues to grow. This seems impressive to me, given that all of the reviews have been from the dozen or so official reviewers. Soon, Fullpint will be opened up to allow anyone to add their own reviews and comments alongside the official Fullpint reviews.

You can search for pubs in the vicinity of a particular favourite and help you to piece together pub-crawls. Naturally you can also search for recommendations close to London Underground stations.

I’m looking forward to doing my part to increase the coverage of Fullpint. It’s a tough job, but someone has got to do it!
