Stag-do a go-go
July 21st, 2007
Last weekend continued the theme of the wedding season, this time with my brother’s stag-do. The English summer was threatening to overshadow our day at York races by treating us to weeks upon weeks of drizzle but we got lucky with a fantastic break in the weather which latest exactly one day! Perfect blues skies and glorious sunshine made York racecourse look superb.

The long queues at all of the bars were a mixed blessing as they helped to moderate our beer intake and let us last until the wee small hours of Sunday morning.
Stephen (like myself) was 100% consistent with his choice of horses… choosing a losing horse on every single race of the day. We left poorer, and not necessarily wiser. He did have more luck during the evening festivities though, managing to avoid any of the usual stag-do shenanigans and leaving for bed with his dignity (more or less) intact.
It was great to see so many people making the effort to make it to York for his big night. Now we are just on the countdown to the big day!
